Packing Center for ‘Corona Visit Packages’ in the Central Market Hall
During the restoration, the Central Market Hall is being actively used for community initiatives. For example, there is a neighborhood meal every Sunday, where those who can afford it pay for people with limited means.
Since December 17th, BOEi has loaned the central square in the market hall to the municipality of Amsterdam and the Amsterdam Public Health Service (GGD), who have transformed it into a “packing center.” Volunteers from social organizations will pack 100,000 ‘Corona visit packages’ here, including self-tests and face masks.
This initiative aims to help residents of Amsterdam make conscious decisions when it comes to visiting and receiving guests during the holiday season.
