PAST   Generations of Amsterdam residents have special memories of the Central Market, and in particular, the large market hall on Jan van Galenstraat.

FUTURE  After restoration and repurposing, the Centrale Markthal offers spaces for both startups and established businesses engaged in local, fresh, and sustainable entrepreneurship. Beyond food, one can also envision areas dedicated to culture, fashion, music, and theater. We envision a place where young talent can connect around themes and ambitions bubbling beneath the surface of this city. A place where young individuals who feel unheard can find a home. With a diverse, accessible, and varied program that everyone can participate in.

PRESENT  During the restoration, BOEi aims to facilitate meaningful and accessible initiatives to introduce Amsterdam residents to this building. The Centrale Markthal is located in the midst of several Amsterdam neighborhoods (Bos en Lommer, Staatsliedenbuurt, Landlust) characterized by a broad and diverse composition. Many of these neighbors have never seen the inside of this beautiful building. With a diverse and inclusive program, we want to give them a first glimpse into the future.
