This summer, come with the family to the 'erfgoedparade', from 8 July you can discover the monumental Centrale Markthal in a special way.
This summer, the Central Market Hall is a time machine where actors and musicians take you as an explorer into a love story between the son of a Moroccan greengrocer and the daughter of an Amsterdam wholesaler in the 1980s. Criss-crossing through time and the Central Market Hall, you travel from a dormant revolt among merchants at its opening in 1934, to the internationalisation of the market, to the dilemma of whether the market should be moved or not. In this performance for the whole family, you will discover how the love between two young people helps ensure that the market hall is forever locked in the hearts and preserved.
