‘erfgoedparade’ the discovery of the Centrale Markthal

The 'erfgoedparade' performance has been playing at our Central Market Hall for two weekends now.

This original performance tells the story of the Centrale Markthal in a playful way. An insight into the beautiful building, which even many Amsterdammers do not know exists, is recommended for both young and old. Never before have you been so close to the actors during a performance, but what fun it is to get to know them this way.

From 12 noon, explorers can report to the entrance on Jan van Galenstraat after which, until 5.30pm, a train will depart every half hour in the direction of the Markthal.

Six actors and a musician play this story together. One of the cast members is Suzanna Pleijter. This great talent was nominated for a talent award at the 2022 musical awards. Script and direction are in the hands of well-known theatre maker Erris van Ginkel. Besides artistic director of the Amsterdam theatre group Toetssteen, he writes and/or directs comedies, musicals, plays, musical shows and cabaret. This earned him a musicalaward nomination in 2017 for best small show and best script. He also regularly brings historical locations to life through song, dance, acting and, in particular, a strong story where history and fiction are intertwined in a humorous way.
