Pitching-In Event at the Central Market Hall

During a well-attended evening, three winners were selected at the Pitching-In Event in the Central Market Hall. Amsterdam is home to many creative entrepreneurs, and specifically for them, BOEi organized a competition with the prize of three warehouses in the market hall for a minimum of one year. The winners will also receive financial and practical support in realizing their plans.

Participants were asked to submit a video of up to 2 minutes, explaining why they can be a valuable addition to the Central Market Hall. The focus areas for the pitch were Creative, Culinary, and Circular. The winners were announced on March 31st from nearly 100 entries.

In the Circular category, Jip Gravenberch emerged as the winner. He will work with a team to promote the widespread use of algae in Amsterdam’s food. Lelani Lewis, who aims to utilize Caribbean cuisine as a unifying factor between cultures, including through a cooking studio, won in the Culinary category. And the Creative category was won by The Dutch Graffiti Library, which aims to showcase the rich history of Dutch graffiti art through exhibitions and workshops.

The market floor will be programmed collaboratively; during the day, a football tournament can take place, and in the evening, there may be film screenings, for example. It will be a meeting place for users, local residents, the city, and the (international) creative community.
