Access to the Centrale Markthal for visitors unable to independently use the pedestrian bridge
The Centrale Markthal Golf Cart: Ensuring 100% accessibility
The Central Market Hall is accessible via the grounds of the Food Center Amsterdam (FCA) at Jan van Galenstraat 6.
If a visitor cannot use the pedestrian bridge, there are two options:
– Visitors who do not require assistance can report to the FCA gatekeeper and then proceed to the main entrance of the Central Market Hall (South Side entrance). Visitors must be registered in advance by the tenant of the Market Hall.
– Visitors requiring assistance can be escorted in their wheelchair by the tenant or someone designated by them, following a predetermined route to the Market Hall. Additionally, a 4-person golf cart is available through BOEi to transport visitors with limited mobility. Registration can be arranged via Verhuurmarkthal@boei.nl or j.beek@boei.nl.
To the left of the main entrance to the Market Hall (South Side), two parking spaces are reserved for visitors arriving by car with a wheelchair. Please register in advance if these spaces are required.
The hall is well-equipped for visitors who cannot walk independently or have limited mobility. The flat floor, with 6-meter-wide central sidewalks, provides ample space for navigating with wheelchairs or other aids. During events, additional measures will be in place to facilitate access to elevated areas.
Visitors to the warehouses can use a reception area in the “Verhalenpakhuis.” An accessible restroom (MIVA toilet) is, of course, available.
Users of the Central Market Hall will receive visitors at the main entrance (central entrance on the south façade). Access for these visitors is requested in advance with security.
For event visitors, please check the organizer’s website for specific information beforehand.
For registration: Verhuurmarkthal@boei.nl or j.beek@boei.nl.
