The right time
BOEi has commissioned the restoration for the clocks hanging in Centrale Markthal. Royal Eijsbouts will replace the entire inner workings, which are in very poor condition, for a mechanical system that automatically adjusts summer and winter time.
The tradition that every six months someone had to be pulled up against the wall with a minuscule basket on a steel wire to adjust the hands in height will thus finally come to an end. Incidentally, this had not been done for years.
