Amsterdam Breaking Championships 2023 in the Centrale Markthal

On December 9, 2023, the first Amsterdam Breaking Championships were held, a grand spectacle at a beautiful location.

Inside the hall, a special stadium was constructed for this championship, with a circle in the middle serving as the battleground for intense Breaking battles.

In the Market Hall, there was also ample space for side events such as the ‘Feet off the Ground’ dance festival, enjoyed by both young and old—a unique combination of top-notch sports and culture. The big winners were India Sardjoe and Lee-Lou Demierre, with India securing a spot in the Paris Olympic Games. The 17-year-old Sardjoe became the world champion in New York in 2022 and won gold at the European Games this year. Lee-Lou Demierre won silver at the 2022 World Championships in New York.

We are proud to have hosted this event! With this first edition of the Amsterdam Breaking Championships, Amsterdam reaffirms its reputation as the Urban Sport Capital.
