Every 6 weeks, fermentation fans from all over the Netherlands gather in Markt Centraal to taste, learn and meet. Professional or amateur, student or avid. Will you also join our mycelium network?

All editions start with a 2-course dinner cooked by Olivier Lieshout (Masterchef). This is followed by a demonstration and product tasting by a fermentation specialist, usually Blub Club president and fermentation guru Ivana Mik. We conclude with a fermented drink and the opportunity to taste other participants’ experiments.

Please note that this Blub Club will take place once on a Sunday due to speaker availability!

We will go from tepache to tempeh and from cheese to koji. This edition is all about dairy-free cheese. Anyone who says that is not tasty is not fermenting enough. To prove it, none other than Polona Kuzman of De Nieuwe Winkel comes to tell how she makes hard and soft cheeses from almonds, chickpeas and most importantly: moulds and bacteria!

Markt Centraal can only be reached by our train, the Markt Centraal Express. It departs from the gate of the Food Center Amsterdam at Jan van Galenstraat 6. The train runs between 18:30 and 19:00. We know no mercy for latecomers.

We have different tickets. Each ticket includes food and 3 drinks.

€25.00 – First visit
For anyone who has never been to the Blub Club before, we have a specially priced ticket. Come browse and be seduced by layered flavours and mysterious fellow fermenters.

€55.00 – Single visit
This ticket is for the fermentation fan who has already been once, but prefers not to commit and does want to join in from time to time.

For the consistent enthusiast, discounted multi-ride tickets are available on Blub Club nights.

The Centrale Markthal is accessible by wheelchair; there is also a MIVA toilet in the hall. Unfortunately, the little train is not wheelchair accessible. If you are coming with a wheelchair, please let us know in advance. We will then sign you in at the doorman of the Food Center Amsterdam.

If cancelled up to three days (72 hours) before the Blub Club, a refund of the amount paid is possible minus €2 costs per person. If cancelled less than 72 hours before the Blub Club, a refund of the amount paid is unfortunately not possible. This also applies to multi-ride tickets holders.
