Brazilian Carnival, also known as “Carnaval do Brasil,” is one of the largest and most vibrant carnival celebrations in the world and takes place in the period leading up to Lent, usually in February or March. The festivities officially begin on the Friday before Ash Wednesday and end on Tuesday night, which is known as “Fat Tuesday” or “Mardi Gras.”

What is Carnival without samba?
Samba music is inseparable from Brazilian carnival. And that is exactly why Samba Roots will once again fill the Club de Ville with their rousing rhythms and lively melodies. Roda de Samba – standing still is not an option.

What is Carnival without Costumes and Masks:
Costumes play an important role during Brazilian carnival. People wear colourful, imaginative outfits, often decorated with feathers, sequins and glitter. Masks are also popular and add to the festivities. So come especially dressed up. Kiki will be there again to paint the prettiest decorations on your faces and hoist you in the most beautiful glitter!

What is Carnival if you are not there?
Nothing at all, of course! Book your tickets soon, because with a party like this, you know it.

Markt Centraal can only be reached by our train, The Markt Centraal Express. It departs from the gate of the Food Center Amsterdam at Jan van Galenstraat 6. The train runs between 18:00 and 03:00.

The Central Market Hall is accessible by wheelchair, there is also a MIVA toilet in the hall. Unfortunately, the little train is not accessible by wheelchair. If you are coming with a wheelchair, please let us know in advance. We will then register you with the porters of the Food Center Amsterdam.

If cancelled up to one week before the event, a refund of the amount paid is possible minus €2 costs per person. If cancelled in the week before the event, a refund of the amount paid is unfortunately not possible.
