All editions start with a 2-course dinner cooked by Olivier Lieshout (Masterchef). This is followed by a demonstration and product tasting by a fermentation specialist, usually Blub Club president and fermentation guru Ivana Mik. We conclude with a fermented drink and the opportunity to taste other participants’ experiments.

We will go from tepache to tempeh and from cheese to koji. This edition will be about an often underrated drink: (water) kefir. Water kefir is less acidic and has a milder aroma than kombucha. This makes it a good addition to non-alcoholic pairings. Milk kefir is very nutritious and tastier than, say, buttermilk, but can you also make it from plant-based milk? We will discover it all during this Blub Club.

Markt Centraal can only be reached by our train, The Markt Centraal Express. It departs from the gate of the Food Center Amsterdam at Jan van Galenstraat 6. The train runs between 18:30 and 19:00. We know no mercy for latecomers.

We have different tickets. Each ticket includes food and 3 drinks.

€25.00 – First visit
For anyone who has never been to the Blub Club before, we have a specially priced ticket. Come browse and be seduced by layered flavours and mysterious co-fermenters.

€55.00 – Single visit
This ticket is for the fermentation fan who has already been once, but prefers not to make any commitments and does want to join in from time to time.

€250.00 – 5-ride ticket
For the consistent enthusiast! This ticket gives you the opportunity to come and learn to ferment five times. Before using this ticket, you will receive additional instructions by email.

The Centrale Markthal is accessible by wheelchair; there is also a MIVA toilet in the hall. Unfortunately, the little train is not accessible by wheelchair. If you are coming with a wheelchair, please let us know in advance. We will then sign you in at the doorman of the Food Center Amsterdam.

If cancelled up to three days (72 hours) before the Blub Club, a refund of the amount paid is possible minus €2 costs per person. In case of cancellation less than 72 hours before the Blub Club, a refund of the paid amount is unfortunately not possible. This also applies to ride ticket holders.
