For this edition, we have neighborhood chefs Latifa and Mofadja, two Amsterdam sisters who are giving the Moroccan cuisine a new dimension!

Market Central is only accessible by our train, the Market Central Express. It departs from the gate of the Food Center Amsterdam at Jan van Galenstraat 6. The train runs between 1:30 PM and 2:00 PM. We don’t show mercy to latecomers.

Our Market Meal is a place to meet and invite new or unexpected people. Come alone, with your family, or invite your neighbor who could use some entertainment or deserves a treat. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate groups of more than 8 people.

We have different pricing to make the Market Meal accessible to everyone.

€15.00 – Market Buddy

This price is for anyone who enjoys sharing or can afford to be generous. As a Market Buddy, you provide a free Market Meal to an unknown Amsterdammer who can’t afford it. So, if giving is in your nature or if you rent out your second home in De Jordaan, this one’s for you!

€10.00 – Average Joe

This price is for the typical Amsterdammer – neither rich nor poor. People who always use their Bonus card, occasionally indulge in fun shopping and regret it the next month. Those who go on vacation but certainly not on a ski trip every year.

€2.50 – City Pass

This price is for those with a valid City Pass with a green dot. Because you don’t have much to spare, but you deserve an occasional tasty outing.

€0.00 – Buddy’s Meal

This price is for him/her/them who truly needs it. For those who are always broke but need a good meal and some company. For those Amsterdammers who don’t meet the criteria of the City Pass or don’t fit into a societal box, the reason doesn’t matter to us… Join us!

The Market Meal is a 3-course vegetarian meal. We prepare the same and very affordable menu for an average of 200 visitors, and unfortunately, we cannot accommodate other dietary preferences in advance.

The Central Market Hall is wheelchair accessible, and there is also an accessible toilet in the hall. Unfortunately, the train is not wheelchair accessible. If you are coming with a wheelchair, please let us know in advance. We will register you with the Food Center Amsterdam’s porter.

Cancellation up to one week before the Market Meal is possible with a refund of the paid amount minus €2 per person. Unfortunately, no refunds are possible for cancellations in the week leading up to the Market Meal.
