For this edition, neighborhood chef Julie presents an enticing round of French cuisine. Oh là là, it will be exquisite!

Markt Centraal is only accessible by our train, the Markt Centraal Express. It departs from the gate of the Food Center Amsterdam at Jan van Galenstraat 6. The train runs between 1:30 PM and 2:00 PM. We show no mercy for latecomers.

Our Markt Maal is a place to meet and invite new or unexpected people. Come alone, with your family, or invite your neighbor who could use or deserves a treat. Unfortunately, we don’t have space for groups larger than 8 people.

We offer different prices to make the Markt Maal accessible to everyone.

€15.00 – Markt Maatje (Market Buddy)

This price is for anyone who enjoys sharing or simply can afford to be generous. As a Markt Maatje, you provide a free Markt Maal to an unknown Amsterdammer who can’t afford it. So, if giving is in your blood or if you rent out your second home in De Jordaan, this option is for you!

€10.00 – Jan Modaal (Average Joe)

This price is for the average Amsterdammer. Neither rich nor poor. People who always use their Bonus Card, sometimes get tempted by fun shopping and regret it the following month. Those who go on vacation but definitely not on a winter sports trip every year.

€2.50 – Stadspas (City Pass)

This price is for holders of a valid Stadspas. Because you don’t have much to spare, but deserve an occasional tasty outing.

€0.00 – MaatjesMaal (Buddy’s Meal)

This price is for him/her/them who truly needs it. For those who are always broke but in need of a good meal and some company. For those Amsterdammers who don’t meet the criteria for a Stadspas or don’t fit into a societal box, the reason doesn’t matter to us… Join us!

The Markt Maal is a 3-course vegetarian meal. We cook the same affordable menu for an average of 200 visitors and unfortunately cannot accommodate other dietary preferences in advance.

The Central Market Hall is wheelchair accessible, and there is an accessible toilet in the hall. Unfortunately, the train is not wheelchair accessible. If you’re coming with a wheelchair, please let us know in advance, and we will register you with the porter of the Food Center Amsterdam.

Cancellation is possible with a refund of the paid amount minus €2 per person, up to one week before the Markt Maal. Unfortunately, no refunds are possible for cancellations in the week before the Markt Maal.
