Every now and then, we find it too quiet in our hall. Our rugged space calls for a dose of musical racket at Markt Centraal! So we gather the tastiest bands, whether they’re emerging or established, ranging from reggae to punk to hip-hop, from Amsterdam and sometimes beyond. We put them on the menu so they can rock live for you on our beautiful stages or in the deepest corners of the monument. Of course, all while enjoying irresistibly delicious food and an essential drink. Because a healthy dose of Market Racket nourishes everyone’s body and soul!

Berima Amo
Berima Amo is a Ghanaian singer, trumpeter, composer, and arranger. At the age of seven, he was already performing on major stages, including with the John Teye Band. He was coached by Teddy Osei, founder and leader of the Osibisa band. From 2004, he studied jazz trumpet at the Rotterdam Conservatory. He toured Europe and Africa with his studio album “Journey Of The African Drum” and released three successful singles in 2019 with his Nkabom band. Berima Amo was nominated for “Best Music Producer” at the AGMMA Awards held annually in London. As part of the 40-year celebration of Bijlmer Amsterdam, he was selected for a photo exhibition as one of the most influential musicians in Amsterdam.

Our pizzeria Kantine West will also be open this evening for tasty stone oven pizzas. Admission to Markt Centraal is free between 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM, so come early and enjoy some food!

Markt Centraal is only accessible by our train, the Markt Centraal Express. It departs from the gate of the Food Center Amsterdam at Jan van Galenstraat 6. The train runs between 7:00 PM and 3:00 AM.

The Central Market Hall is wheelchair accessible, and there is an accessible toilet in the hall. Unfortunately, the train is not wheelchair accessible. If you are coming with a wheelchair, please let us know in advance so we can register you with the porter of the Food Center Amsterdam.

Cancellation is possible with a refund of the paid amount minus €2 per person, up to one week before the event. Unfortunately, no refunds are possible for cancellations in the week before the event.
